What is The Cat Eye Cabaret?

The Cat Eye Cabaret is a burlesque group based in Nieuwegein. This group, started by Madame Donna LaSage in 2019, has been organising shows since 2022. Together with Miss Dahlia Noir and Miss Renoux Mégane Madame Donna LaSage creates space for blossoming burlesque artists.

The group revolves around collaboration and sharing resources with other artists. Since it can be overwhelming to find a stage or a space to rehearse, to brainstorm your ideas for your acts, or to get started on anything from costume design to choreography, it can be comforting to have a supportive, like-minded community around you to help you grow.

Our team currently consist of costume designers, (digital) artists, photographers, stage managers and kittens, an MC, and many more helping hands. All of us work together to create a unique and inspiring show every single time. Each show is curated around a theme (like Halloween, Christmas, or our very own Foutlesque) with group dances and individual acts.

Sounds good, but how?

Right now we rehearse every Monday from 19:30 to 21:00 at De Partner Nieuwegein. Each session starts with a warm up, after which we rehearse the group dances together. These are accessible dances which strengthen our collaboration and to help beginners practice rhythm and movement.

From 21:00 to 22:00 Madame Donna LaSage offers 1-on-1 sessions to help every participant to develop their act for the upcoming show.

On Wednesdays between 19:30 and 22:00 Madame Donna LaSage offers 2 courses at 2 different levels. Check here for the current courses.

Each show has artists from each group, resulting in a surprising variety of acts.

Guest Artists

We aim to invite guest artists to our shows if our budget and the venue allows us to do so. In this case, we post a call on our social media.

We are always interested in new locations to perform at. We have a number of dancers, singers, and artists available with which we can enrich your event.
